The Natural Resources Association of Graduate Students (NRAGS) students sat down with The Minnesota Daily reporter Becca Most to talk about the anti-racism letter to Forest Resources. This MN Daily article highlights the movement and similar efforts in other departments.

As explained on NRAGS Instagram:

“While we are making progress, this process is not without sadness. Shortly after this article was published, we learned of the resignation of Native American Medicine Garden (NAMG) caretaker, Cânté Sütá Francis Bettelyoun, due to years of mistreatment. We are saddened by the racism that he endured over the years and the toll it took. One of our demands to the department is support and respect for the NAMG and Cânté Sütá. Much damage has been done, but we will continue to advocate for respect of traditional Indigenous practices, land rights, and food sovereignty.”
